NISDA August Events on Nantucket 2026

There’s still plenty of creativity to enjoy at the Nantucket Island School of Design & the Arts (NISDA) this August. From gallery openings and artist talks to live music, local artisans, and hands-on art programs, NISDA’s Seaview Farm Arts Center in Wauwinet has a full lineup for the final weeks of summer.

Located at 23 Wauwinet Road, NISDA welcomes islanders and visitors of all ages to experience art, music, and community in a relaxed outdoor setting.

NISDA Summer Online Auction

Through August 20

NISDA’s Summer Online Auction features a collection of one-of-a-kind artwork while supporting the organization’s arts and educational programming.

Donna Elle — “The Shape of Space”

Wednesday, August 19 | 7–9 PM

Join Nantucket-based designer Donna Elle for an evening exploring The Shape of Space: How to Design the Home and Garden Within You.

The evening begins with a gallery opening from 7–8 PM, followed by an artist talk from 8–9 PM. The event is free and open to the public.

Thursday Night Fête at NISDA

August 20 & 27 | 6–8 PM

Spend a summer evening at Seaview Farm with live music from Island Tunes, open mic performances, and food available from local food trucks.

Guests are encouraged to bring family, friends, houseguests, and a picnic blanket and enjoy an evening outdoors. Visitors can also participate in NISDA’s “No More Empty Bowls” project benefiting the NFFRA Food Pantry Fundraiser.

NISDA THURSDAY NIGHT FETE

NISDA Artisan Saturday Market

Saturday, August 22 | 10 AM–2 PM

Support Nantucket’s creative community at the NISDA Artisan Saturday Market, featuring work from local artists and craftspeople.

The market gives island creatives an opportunity to share and sell their work directly to the community and is free and open to the public.

People’s Pop-Up Art Show

Thursday, August 27 | 6–8 PM

NISDA’s annual People’s Pop-Up Art Show invites everyone to take part. Artists and makers are encouraged to bring their work and share their creative pursuits with the community.

The evening will also feature Island Tunes Open Mic, a food truck, and the final Thursday Night Fête of August.

Young Artists at NISDA

NISDA’s summer art programming continues through the end of August, giving young artists opportunities to explore painting, clay, storytelling, crafts, nature, and more.

Programs include:

  • Stone Soup — Maskmaking & Storytelling: August 17–21, ages 5–14
  • Generations Together: August 21, all ages
  • Kinder Artists: Weekly programming through August 28, ages 5–9
  • Youth Clay: Through August 26, ages 9–14
  • Private Clay Tutorials: Available by request through August 31

Whether you’re looking for a creative activity for the kids, an evening of live music, or a chance to discover work by Nantucket artists, there are plenty of reasons to make a trip out to NISDA before summer comes to a close.
