Cisco Brewers is teaming up with the Maria Mitchell Association for a new Nantucket-inspired release: Stargazer Pilsner, a dry-hopped pilsner created in honor of astronomer and Nantucket native Maria Mitchell.

The beer will officially launch at Cisco Brewers Nantucket on Thursday, October 1, from 4–7 p.m., a fitting date that marks the anniversary of Mitchell’s discovery of a comet in 1847. The discovery brought her international recognition and helped establish her as America’s first professional female astronomer.

Stargazer Pilsner also supports Mitchell’s lasting legacy on Nantucket. One dollar from every pint sold will benefit the Maria Mitchell Association, helping support its science education, research, and public programming.

The October 1 launch will give guests a chance to try the new pilsner, learn more about Maria Mitchell’s remarkable story, and support the MMA. Limited-edition Stargazer Pilsner T-shirts will also be available during the event.
