A Beloved Nantucket Summer Tradition
Few events capture the spirit of summer on Nantucket quite like the Boston Pops at Jetties Beach. Each August, residents and visitors gather along the shoreline for an evening that combines world-class music, a relaxed beach picnic and a spectacular fireworks finale.
The event began in 1997, when a group of volunteers set out to create an inclusive fundraiser for Nantucket Cottage Hospital. That first concert brought conductor John Williams and the Boston Pops to Jetties Beach and raised $585,000 for cardiac equipment and defibrillators. Today, the annual celebration raises millions of dollars to support the hospital’s year-round work within the island community.
Who Is Performing at the 2026 Boston Pops on Nantucket?
The Boston Pops on Tour will return to Jetties Beach for this year’s performance, joined by Yachtley Crew.
Known as the “Titans of Soft Rock,” Yachtley Crew is a Los Angeles-based band recognized for its lively performances, nautical stagewear and celebration of classic yacht-rock favorites. Their upbeat sound and playful, coastal style should feel especially at home during an outdoor concert beside Nantucket Sound.
The evening will conclude with fireworks launched from a barge off the jetty at approximately 9:00 p.m.
