Nantucket Garden Festival 2026
Each summer, Nantucket’s natural beauty takes center stage during the Nantucket Garden Festival, a multi-day celebration of island gardening, floral design, sustainability, and outdoor living. The 17th Annual Nantucket Garden Festival will take place July 7-9, 2026, with events held across the island. The festival supports Nantucket Lighthouse School and celebrates the unique garden ecosystems that make Nantucket so special.
From private garden tours and floral workshops to expert-led lectures and family-friendly programming, the Nantucket Garden Festival offers a rare opportunity to experience some of the island’s most beautiful and thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces.
A Celebration of Island Gardening
The Nantucket Garden Festival highlights the island’s distinctive landscape, with a focus on sustainability, conservation, and gardening practices that support the long-term health of Nantucket’s natural environment. The festival includes creative lectures, hands-on workshops, garden tours, and children’s activities, making it a meaningful event for gardeners, design enthusiasts, families, and anyone who loves the beauty of Nantucket in bloom.
2026 Festival Highlights
The 2026 schedule includes several signature experiences throughout the three-day festival.
On Tuesday, July 7, guests can join private garden van tours led by Greyson Keller of The Garden Group. These intimate tours depart from Nantucket Lighthouse School and offer access to carefully selected private gardens, with behind-the-scenes insight from Greyson and each garden’s personal gardener. The day also includes a floral design workshop with Ariella Chezar at Harvest Garden, where guests will create a seasonal centerpiece and learn about sustainable floristry.
On Wednesday, July 8, the festival continues with Sconset Garden Walking Tours led by Lindsay Mohr of Mohr Gardening. These tours explore private gardens and layered seaside landscapes in Siasconset, offering insight into coastal plantings and thoughtful garden design. The day also features a keynote lecture and luncheon with award-winning landscape designer Pollyanna Wilkinson at Straight Wharf Restaurant.
On Thursday, July 9, guests can enjoy additional private garden van tours, a Children’s Garden Tea Party in a private town garden, and a Private Vegetable Garden & Tasting Tour led by Greyson Keller. This garden-to-table experience includes visits to private vegetable gardens with seasonal tastings crafted from ingredients grown on-site.
Why Attend the Nantucket Garden Festival?
For visitors, the festival is a beautiful way to experience Nantucket beyond the beaches. For year-round and seasonal residents, it is a chance to gather inspiration for coastal gardens, outdoor entertaining spaces, vegetable gardens, and sustainable landscaping practices suited to the island’s unique climate.
The festival also offers a closer look at the relationship between Nantucket homes and their surrounding landscapes. From tucked-away Sconset gardens to curated private properties and working vegetable gardens, each event showcases how thoughtful design can enhance outdoor living while honoring the island’s natural character.
