Nantucket weathered quite the bomb cyclone this past week, taking down cell phone service and trees across the island including the American Elm in front of our office at 21 Main Street. On Thursday, the DPW removed the tree after a crack surfaced at the root. Thanks to Brent for documenting the tree removal. We are sad to see this beautiful and historic go, but another tree will be planted this spring in its place according to the DPW.
