Now that you have booked your Nantucket Vacation Rental, what are your next steps?

You have worked with your Fisher Real Estate Agent, found the perfect vacation rental home, and confirmed your stay. Those are great first steps, but what next? First and foremost, put the summer countdown schedule on your fridge and calendar! After that, there are a few more steps to take that will make your vacation experience seamless and easy.

Restaurant reservations, bike rentals, car rentals – it all depends on how you plan to experience Nantucket, and needs vary from person to person and group to group. Let your Fisher agent know, or check out our Fisher Guide for more about who, what, where, and when! My favorite tip from the Fisher Guide is to utilize one of our many grocery stocking services, even if it is just for the basic supplies you might need right out of the gate.

It helps to communicate with your Fisher agent about when and how you anticipate arriving on the island. Also, ensure you and your agent have one another’s phone numbers for easy communication on check-in day. Remember that most homes have a check-in time of 3 pm, but if you coordinate with your agent, we can help you figure out all the granular details. Finally, make sure that you and your agent have communicated about access to the home so that settling in is smooth and stress-free.

Whether or not your agent is present when you arrive, please know that we have already walked through the home earlier that day to make sure everything is in tip-top shape for your stay. During peak season, Saturdays are the busiest days with the majority of turnovers, so we ask for patience and smiles as we try to say goodbye to last week’s guests and hello to our new ones!

Once you settle into the home, you will find a welcome packet with all the essential information regarding your rental. This packet will include the ever-important WiFi credentials, as well as recycling and trash do’s and don’ts that will save money and time at the end of your stay.

Your agent will check in with you to ensure everything is as expected, but if you don’t connect right away and you have no comments or concerns, go hit the beach and know that your agent will touch base shortly. However, if you arrive and need something addressed, please reach out to your agent as soon as possible so that they can attempt to resolve any concerns quickly and efficiently..

Now the best part… enjoy your week and have fun exploring! If any questions arise, always feel free to contact your agent. And if you are enjoying your stay so much that you never want to leave Nantucket, well, your Fisher agent can help with that, too. Did you know that our agents are skilled at both rentals and sales?

Once you have departed, and are traveling off this beautiful island, please know it’s never too early to start booking your return trip.

See you next summer and in the meantime let your agent know if you have any questions!
