Nantucket’s Health Department is working on the implementation of a new short-term rental registration program. Although the Town’s website for registration is live, the Town of Nantucket has set November 1, 2024 as the deadline for registration for those who rent on a short-term basis (less than 32 days). It has been shared that the first year of the registry is being used for data gathering and as a “break-in” period and enforcement of the regulations will begin January 1, 2025. We are urging people to wait until the Town and GOVOS have worked out the bugs and refined the system prior to registering.
