Before and after the busy summer season, we love to hit up our favorite dining establishments during Nantucket Restaurant Week. We are lucky that this special culinary week happens not once, but twice a year. In 2018, Spring Restaurant Week was held from June 4th-10th and Fall Restaurant Week will take place September 24th-30th.

29 Restaurants from across the island participate, most of which are located in town. However, some are found in other neighborhoods like The Chanticleer and the Summer House in ’Sconset, Galley Beach in Brant Point, Toppers in Wauwinet and The SeaGrille in Mid-Island. Reservations are recommended during Nantucket Restaurant Week. Each restaurant offers a unique menu, so contact them to find out details of their nightly specials!

Gina says, “A substantial portion with more flavor than you would ever think you could find in shrimp.  The perfect crunch and the melt in your mouth texture make for the ideal culinary combo.  Try with their Little Gem Lettuce dish and you have a gorgeous dinner.  Buon Appetito!”

Favorite Dish: The lobster roll – lunch or dinner!

Erin says, “Why do I love it? At lunch it is served cold and warmed at dinner and they are both delicious. However, do NOT skip the bun, trust me. Set at the end of the wharf, Cru has a fun, lively ambiance. Your spirits just lift when you walk through the door. The location is tough to beat, looking out at all of the boats just never gets old. And the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive.”

Favorite Dish: So hard to choose just one but if you’re in the mood for pasta then the Strozzapretti is the way to go. This is a homemade pasta with spicy chicken sausage, broccoli rabe and pecorino. Delish!

Jen says, “Ventuno is often my first choice for a Nantucket restaurant as the menu offers so many varied choices and it’s a great value given the quality and portions.  The ambiance is fabulous and offers the opportunity to sit outside on the back patio in great summer weather, or inside in the various dining rooms.  I often vote to sit at the bar with the famous Johnny B — he always remembers your name and if for some reason he doesn’t, he will certainly remember what you’re drinking.”

Danno says, “Unlike any other restaurant on Nantucket, the Company of the Cauldron has a fixed menu every night of the week with two seatings.  Some of the menu stays constant, but it has seasonal variations so you will never have the same meal twice. My favorite night of Nantucket Restaurant Week is on Wednesday when they offer fried chicken and waffles. The dish is served family style and starts with pop overs and salad. They also bring out two side dishes AND dessert. It is great to sit down at a place and feel completely at home and not have to worry about figuring out what to order, they choose the menu for you!”

Favorite Dishes: Soy Glazed Pork Belly and Seared Yellowfin Tuna

Cam says, “Dune is one of our favorite restaurants to eat at in the winter, the atmosphere is awesome!!! I love their pork belly appetizer and yellowfin tuna. The tuna is served with a roasted cauliflower puree, almond caper relish, pancetta, french lentils, purple cauliflower and red beets. Cait says, “Queequeg’s is one of my favorite cozy spots, especially in the off-season. Their menu is the ultimate in comfort food, but with a twist and the chef always has mouth watering specials. I love grabbing seats at the bar with friends and sharing some of their smaller plates or going for one of their “themed” nights. Not to miss: best truffle fries on the island, hands down.”

The atmosphere brings me back to my time working in Boston and that city feel you sometimes crave without having to leave the island. The food is obviously delicious (and amazingly rich), cocktails are on point, and their private dining areas are the perfect place for a special occasion, my personal favorite is the Pink Room!”

They start off by bringing bread, olive oil and their homemade bluefish pate and end with their signature rosemary shortbread cookies. Choose from one item on their begin, continue and complete menu. SWR continues to be my top choice during restaurant week because they serve the same hearty portions and offer the full menu. Ask the friendly sommelier for wine pairings for an extra special meal!”
