“After an unprecedented transaction month in April, which set the second highest sales month ever recorded, Nantucket real estate sales lightened in May. Though total dollar volume fell to less than half of the prior month’s totals, the 56 transactions tallying $120 million still set the highest record for May sales.  Monthly sales were led by the $10.65M sale of 99 Cliff Road and book-ended at the lower end by a $380,000 lot sale in the Sandpiper Place development (both Fisher sales).  New contract activity declined by 14 percent but was still historically strong while price change activity increased.
