The impact of the pandemic posed lots of uncertainty for both sellers and buyers, and our local registry of deeds office was closed, rendering transaction closings all but impossible. One year later, the market remains on a trajectory few of us have ever witnessed before. Closings were $100 million more in March 2021 than they were in 2020 and 1Q2021 dollar volume was higher than any first quarter in the market’s history. Like many industries right now, the only potential issue with the growth trajectory for Nantucket real estate is the lack of supply to meet the continued buyer demand.
