ANNOUNCING THE STEAMSHIP AUTHORITY’S 2019 RESERVATION OPENING DATES FOR TRAVEL FROM MAY 15, 2019 TO OCTOBER 23, 2019

Please mark these important reservation dates on your calendar:

From Tuesday, January 8, 2019 through Monday, January 14, 2019, Headstart customers (who must be in our Excursion and Preferred programs to participate) may make reservations via the Internet. Reservations will also be accepted through the U.S. Mail. Up to five transactions (one-way or round-trip) will be accepted per mailing. All reservations will be processed as received.

Please note: in order to participate in Headstart, those with even-numbered preferred profile accounts will need to renew their profile account by filling out our 2019 Preferred Profile Application or Preferred Excursion Application by December 31, 2018. These applications are available on our website at www.SteamshipAuthority.com. Click on the “About” tab and select “Policies, Forms & Information” from the drop-down menu.

Transferable Headstart Reservations: Three of the five Headstart transactions may be designated as transferable reservations. A transfer slip will be sent and must be returned no later than May 15, 2019 or 30 days prior to the scheduled departure of the first segment of the reservation, whichever comes first. Customers must provide their name, address and the year, make and model of the vehicle traveling. You will then receive a confirmation for your transaction.

In order to improve our general public opening reservation process, we are making changes to how the internet opening is processed. In 2019, there will be two general openings, one for the Vineyard and one for Nantucket. Our IT Department will have extra support onsite and, during the internet-only general openings, reservation office hours will be extended to provide support for our customers who may have issues accessing their profile, remembering their account password, etc.

Beginning at 5:00 a.m. on January 15, 2019, reservations for travel to Nantucket only may be made via the internet. Reservation requests will also be accepted through the mail, with up to five transactions (one-way or round-trip) accepted per mailing. All reservations mail requests will be processed as received, beginning on January 15, 2019. During this time the reservation office hours will be extended to 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to provide support for our internet/web customers.

Beginning Tuesday, January 29, 2019, reservations for travel to either Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard may be made by phone, via the internet or in person. Up to five transactions (one-way or round-trip) will be accepted per telephone call.

Please note: When making a vehicle reservation, you must provide the year, make, model, and license plate number of the vehicle you will be transporting. All vehicle reservations are non-transferable.
