Each year the Nantucket Golf Club Foundation, by way of their Nantucket Scholar Program, awards two Nantucket High School students a full, four-year scholarship to the university or college they’ll be attending the following year. The scholar selection process consists of two announcements: the finalists and the scholars. The initial pool of applicants go through personal interviews, group dinners, and other fun yet challenging activities before the group is cut down to around ten finalists.

These select finalists go through more interviews, discussions, and engaging activities, as the scholar committee tries to gain a deeper understanding of who they are. Eventually, out of all the finalists, two stand-out students are selected to receive the scholarship. The 2021 Nantucket Scholars were recently announced in an announcement video that you can view below.

Joey Bresette: Born and raised here on Nantucket, Joey is currently attending Santa Clara University, and plans on majoring in mathematics and economics. He loves all things water-related, stemming from his life growing up on the island and his past job as a lifeguard. If he’s not out assisting with marketing or helping agents here at Fisher, you can find him surfing, fishing, or going to the beach with his family!
