“Preliminary November real estate data shows that it was another active month for real estate, though volume abated from previous month’s activity.  Property sales included 84 transactions totaling approximately $217 million.  This is down from the $300M+ in volume in September and October but still double the volume witnessed one year ago.  There were two notable $10M+ sales, as well as several high-end sales.  There was also a bright light for the commercial arena with the $2.4 million sale of 1 South Cambridge Street in Town (formerly the home of Sweet Inspirations).  

The amount of new inventory declined from last month and remains down 30 percent from one year ago.  This continues to be one of the biggest drivers for increasing property values given buyer demand remains stronger than ever.  On the purchase activity front, new contracts declined from October volume, but remained quite strong compared to historic norms with 68 new contracts.
