How much does it cost to maintain a pool on Nantucket annually?
In Real Estate, we are often asked about the annual upkeep to maintain a home on Nantucket. This can vary drastically between different properties. I thought it would be helpful to share general costs for a pool and spa.

I have an 8×8 spa and 16×32 pool, they are run on separate systems so I can keep the spa open past summer season if I choose.
These costs can vary, but here is a high-level framework:
• Opening and closing the pool and spa, $950. $950 in the beginning of the season and $950 at the end.
• One-time chemical package $300, completed at the beginning of the season.
• Weekly service $175. Your total will vary based on how long you keep your pool and/or spa open.
• Heat – this is a big variable depending on how high you set the temperature and how often you use it.
• There are also winter visits you can opt into and other maintenance items that may come up.

If you are putting in a pool or buying a property with a pool, I recommend asking the pool company for a breakdown of annual costs.
