While local policies continue to evolve, there were three recent updates that we wanted to relay. First, similar to many localities, the Town of Nantucket has declared a state of emergency. This will allow the Town to take immediate steps to provide for the safety and general welfare of our community.

Nantucket also temporarily halted all construction projects, save for those necessary for utilities, healthcare facilities and/or work necessary to render an occupied residential building habitable. The current moratorium is scheduled to end on April 6, 2020.

Lastly, Hyline cruises is limiting travel, largely due to many voices expressing concern that our local hospital isn’t equipped to handle many people should the virus take a hold on the island.
