The Nantucket Project Academy
The Nantucket Project’s impact reaches far beyond our island’s September conference. The Nantucket Project Academy celebrates neighborhoods everywhere by supporting local talent, telling their stories, and sharing the meaning and wonder of human connection. In 2019, the Academy is focused on two initiatives.
Academy Initiatives
The Keepers Of The Commons – A neighborhood development initiative that identifies exceptional individuals in underserved communities and give them the opportunity to awaken or renew their sense of purpose by participating in the Nantucket Project.
Keepers are identified by Academy staff who travel to pre-selected neighborhoods to meet with local stakeholders and develop relationships with potential Keepers in their communities. Keepers will travel to Nantucket where they will have the opportunity to awaken their own possibilities through retreat, dialogue, reflection, and participation in both TNP and TNP Academy specific programming.
The Dream Factory – An online research and curiosity hub that will share stories and ideas centered around values. The stories will be gathered from our Keepers and feature rolling images and written content.
The Dream Factory will be a modern, virtual storytelling platform and will house a database of resources developed in collaboration with Academy partners (including articles, webinars and templates) made accessible to anyone wanting to improve and celebrate their own neighborhood.
