Spring on Nantucket

Around The Office

Sankaty Lighthouse

There’s something about Spring on Nantucket that feels like a quiet exhale. I look forward to Spring every year. After the stormy, cold winter days, the island begins to wake up, slowly at first, and then all at once. The colors return. Soft greens push through the landscape, daffodils line the roads, and the sky seems just a little brighter. You can feel the shift everywhere.

The temperatures begin to change, too. The warmer days make it perfect for longer walks, more time outdoors, and those moments when you realize you no longer need quite as many layers. It’s that in-between season where everything feels fresh, light, and alive again.

One of my favorite parts of Spring is spending more time outside. On Nantucket that can look different for everyone. Some are out running, biking or jogging again on Surfside Road, Hummock Pond Road or Milestone Road. Others are heading back to the golf course (Miacomet Golf Club, Nantucket Golf Club, Sconset Golf) for an early tee time, and few are enjoying a quiet moment with a book in the Nantucket Atheneum garden. Local parents are cheering on their kids at practices and games out in the fields, and some brave souls are even taking their first ocean dip of the season.

I personally enjoy morning or afternoon walks in Dionis along Eel Point Road, Madaket Road or at Tupancy Links. Another favorite activity of mine is going on beach walks with my son and collecting shells together. There’s something incredibly grounding about being outside here this time of year.

Just as the landscape comes back to life, the restaurants and shops on the island begin to open their doors again. At the same time, the real estate market starts to pick up pace. In fact, there have been 62 new sales listings since the beginning of March 2026. As expected, more properties will continue returning to market or get newly listed. If becoming a Nantucket homeowner is one of your goals this year, this is a great time to reach out to me and ask to be registered for a complimentary local MLS access.

And for those hoping to come back for another unforgettable summer vacation, but who haven’t yet booked a place to stay, it’s not too late. We still have a great variety of summer homes available. Feel free to reach out to me! While we savor every day of Spring, Summer will be here before we know it.
