On Display at the Nantucket Whaling Museum

The Nantucket Historical Association (NHA) is excited to present a special student art exhibition on display in the Whaling Museum, McCausland Gallery, February 21 through April 2.

The artwork was created by students ranging from kindergarten through eighth grade from Nantucket Elementary and Intermediate Schools, Cyrus Piece Middle School, the Nantucket Lighthouse School, and Nantucket New School.  Each student was tasked with preparing their own work inspired by Nantucket and its history.

“I can’t think of a better way to liven up the museum for the last few weeks of winter.  These student artists are helping make the Whaling Museum vibrant, and everyone involved – students, teachers, and NHA staff – are excited to see families stopping by and being wowed by the work soon to be on display,” says Karl Wietzel, NHA Manager of Education.

Parents and community members are invited to the Whaling Museum, open weekly (Monday – Saturday, 10 am-4 pm) and closed on Sundays, to tour the exhibition.  Admission is free to all visitors.
