Nantucket Bucket List
Drive to Great Point Light
Deflate your tires, pop on a Nantucket beach permit sticker, and cruise miles of soft sand. Be on the lookout for seals, or try your hand at fishing from the shore!
Stroll Along the Bluff Walk
Bright pink roses, adorable cottages, and white shell driveways make ‘Sconset truly charming. With gorgeous homes to your left and sweeping views of the Atlantic to your right, the bluff walk is truly memorable.
Catch A Fish
Hop on a boat and cruise to Great Point in search of Stripers, or grab a rod and head to the south shore beaches in the evening. Check out Cam’s weekly fishing report for the latest on where to fish and what to catch.
Take the Ghost Tour
Dive into Nantucket’s rich history and embark on a haunting adventure. Meet on Main Street, swap spooky stories, and take in our island’s historic homes and cobbled streets by night.
Ride Your Bike to ‘Sconset Village
Cruise past miles of conservation land as you make your way out to ‘Sconset, where everything seems to be in miniature. Cool off with an ice cream cone from the market and don’t forget to check out Sankaty Head Light.
Catch a Wave at Cisco
Cisco beach is the perfect place to learn to surf or to show off your existing skills. So rent a board, catch a wave, and never look back.
Barbecue at 40th Pole & Create a New S’mores Combo
There’s nothing better than biting into a burger as you watch the sun go down. So pack up your car, grab your friends, and head out to 40th Pole where the waters are calm and the views just can’t be beat.
Catch Fireflies at Lily Pond
Just on the edge of town lies the Lily Pond, a peaceful park that lights up at night. Watch the fireflies go by or try your hand at capturing one!
Dig for Clams at Low Tide
If you’re willing to get your hands dirty, head to Coatue or the Monomoy creeks and dig into the soft mud. You just may be lucky enough to find clams for dinner, or at the very least a critter or two.
Climb to the Top of the Congregational Church Steeple
On Center Street, you’ll find our First Congregational Church. Those brave enough to climb the hundreds of steps will be rewarded with generous views of Nantucket Town from above. We think it’s worth it!
Join the ACK Clean Team for an Island Wide Cleanup
Show your love for our island by helping keep her beautiful. Join the Clean Team on Saturday mornings as they comb beaches, parking lots, and bike paths for debris. You may just discover your new favorite spot.
Swim in the Phosphorescence at Night
Check out Steps Beach or Nantucket Harbor after dark to experience something magical. Beautiful phosphorescence lights up the water as it ripples, so why not hop in?
Artist Spotlight: Meredith Hanson
Meredith’s watercolor works beautifully captures the spirit of Nantucket. From whimsical sailboats and hydrangeas in full bloom to colorful bikes and Nantucket landmarks, Merediths work delights. During her eight years on Nantucket, she has grown her talent into a thriving business- her work can be found adorning scarves, coffee cups, and even shoes! We were so excited to collaborate with her on this project and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
