These local restaurants have stepped up to the “plate” in a major way to benefit our community.
🚐 Island Kitchen has parked their catering and food truck at the High School to serve breakfast and lunch to the children of Nantucket from Monday to Friday when they would normally be served these meals in school. Owner Patrick Ridge has teamed up with Linda Petterson who runs the school lunch program. He calls her the true unsung hero, as she has been supplying the labor and trucks. They are both winners in our book!
👨👩👧👦 The Corner Table/Nantucket Culinary Center has created a “get one, give one” meal program. When you purchase a meal, another is provided to a local family thanks to a generous donor. We have heard wonderful things about their family supper which includes delivery. Visit the Nantucket Culinary Center website to request a meal donation or order delivery. This Monday they are serving stuffed manicotti, a green salad, roasted asparagus and carrot cake! Yum!
🍽 Or, the Whale, Sandbar Jetties, The Beet and CRU are all supporting the Nantucket meal delivery program through the Saltmarsh Senior Centre and the Town of Nantucket. If you or someone you know are over 60, living at home, and don’t already utilize the Meals on Wheels program, please contact the Saltmarsh Center at 508.228.4490. Free deliveries are completed in a no-contact format and left outside of your residence.
