Historically preserved and simply beautiful, downtown Nantucket can be equated to nowhere else in the world. This is the heart of the island, replete with original cobblestone streets, waterfront restaurants and charming grey-shingled shops. Many of the stunning homes abut pocket gardens heavy in hydrangea and climbing roses, like something out of a painting. Come summer, families filter in and out of the various ice cream, souvenir and t-shirt shops. Town is also just an easy stroll to the beach to enjoy a perfect summer day.

For those of us who are in town, the Francis Street beach is a gem. It's easy to find because of the colorful kayak rentals that are lined up at the bend on Washington Street. It's not a long walk, but the perfect spot to meander and start or end the day. Sometimes Erin takes her coffee with her for an early stroll, she says it’s the perfect way start to the day.
