From Town, take the four-mile bike path to this South Shore destination, or it’s slightly more subdued neighbor – Hummock Pond, and you won’t be disappointed. Known as a surfer’s paradise and home to the infamous Cisco Brewery, this area of the island has something for everyone.

What To Do

Cisco Brewery is an island staple and a high priority for your to-do list. This Nantucket business offers handcrafted beers, liquors and wine, all located on the same property. The products are made locally and, in addition to libations, the Brewery offers live music, food trucks and daily tours of its facility. This is a great place for the whole family as it is both kid and dog-friendly. Grab a seat in the courtyard with a 888 cocktail and a scallop roll from the Lobster Trap food truck and see why this is the “coolest place on Earth.” Be sure to check their Instagram or website to see which food trucks and live bands are there that day. *Fisher Tip: they offer a free shuttle from downtown, running every half hour (in season) from the Visitor’s Center on Federal Street.

Nantucket Island Surf School has been teaching surfing at Cisco Beach since 1999 to students of all ages and abilities. They offer private or group lessons and weekly mini camps for kids. They also offer SUP paddleboard lessons and provide all your rental equipment needs.  Just bring your sunscreen!

Off the beaten path in Cisco is an incredible organic farm and nursery, Pumpkin Pond Farm. Whether you have a green thumb or not, this stop shouldn’t be missed. The farm offers certified organic vegetables, herbs, edible flowers and microgreens, all grown on the nine-acre property. Their nursery also has a wide selection of plants, succulents, perennials and so much more. Even if you don’t need to pick up veggies, take a stroll through Hydrangea Park to see all the gorgeous flowers growing or walk up Pumpkin Hill to pick your own fresh herbs. 

Where To Eat

The market at Bartlett Farm is Nantucket’s oldest and largest family-owned farm with fresh produce, groceries and prepared foods. So whether you’re packing a beach bag, grilling with friends or bringing snacks to the Brewery, this is your go-to spot in Cisco. 

167 Raw is a fresh seafood market on Hummock Pond Road. There is no restaurant service here, but they have a raw bar stand at Cisco Brewery every Friday – Sunday from 3-7pm. The market offers some of the freshest fish around, a small selection of beer and wine, and various other grocery items for a perfect summer meal.  You won’t want to miss these guys!

Beaches

Cisco Beach is home to Nantucket’s surf culture and the annual Nantucket Ozone Surf Classic. This pristine beach has soft sand and a sandbar that makes constant beautiful waves. Not quite a pro? No problem. Nantucket Island Surf School is there daily for lessons and rental equipment.  As with many Nantucket beaches, keep an eye on beach advisories as the currents along the south shore may create the potential for rip tides.
