Distance to Beach: 2 miles | Distance to Town: 3.1 miles

Miacomet is one of the best-kept secrets on the island. This stunning area offers soft sand beaches, a golf course, large pond and is popular with locals for it’s surf and privacy.

What To Do

The Miacomet Golf Club is Nantucket’s only public 18-hole golf course. Exquisitely maintained and open year-round, this is a hot spot for year-round or seasonal golfers. Fun fact: Ralph Marble bought the 400 acres of land in 1965. He had the intention of raising cows for dairy production, but began building the golf course four years later instead.

Miacomet Pond is another hidden gem to locals and is great for kayaking, canoeing or just taking your dog for a walk at sunset. The pond is a 1.5-mile long freshwater system, home to varieties of fish, snapping turtles, sea ducks, swans and wading birds.

Where To Eat

Prior to summer 2017, the Miacomet Golf Club was an excellent snack bar and dining room but due to a fire, the facility is currently closed and is pending reconstruction.

If you’re looking for something quick, Miacomet neighbors Cisco where you can quickly grab a bite at Bartlett’s Farm or Cisco Brewery.

Beaches

Miacomet Beach is located at the end of Miacomet Road and is a destination beach for families. There are a few lifeguards, parking, but no bathroom facilities or food stand. Be sure to stock your beach bag.

Ladies Beach is off the beaten path… literally. This beach is at the end of Bartlett Farm Road and is a great spot for driving your car on for the day. However, make sure you have a large four-wheel vehicle (and beach permit) to make the trek out.
