Distance to Beach: 1 mile | Distance to Town: 1 mile

Just slightly North of Town is Brant Point, a small neighborhood that is one of the most desired areas on island. Brant Point boasts stunning homes, picturesque views of the harbor and classic island charm, making this idyllic area one to see while you are on island.

What To See

Brant Point is home to the iconic Brant Point Lighthouse, which welcomes residents and visitors year round as the ferries enter the Nantucket Harbor. The station was established in 1746 and the current tower was built in 1856. As of 1987, Brant Point Lighthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Where To Eat

Brant Point Grill, aka BPG, is the restaurant in the award-winning hotel, The White Elephant. Located on Easton Street, BPG is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner serving incredible food with breathtaking views of the harbor. They also offer a Sunday Brunch in the summer – order a famous Lobster Bloody Mary and thank us later.

*Fisher Tip: Sunday Brunch has a special “kids’ corner” making this the perfect spot for the whole family.

Another favorite spot in Brant Point is Lola 41, a chic restaurant specializing in cuisines from the world’s 41st parallel. Best known for their fresh sushi, creative cocktails and those infamous truffle fries, they also have sister restaurants on island — Lola Burger and Station 21. Also note, in the summer season they only take same day reservations starting at 4pm.

Sandbar at the Jetties, formerly The Jetties, offers the quintessential beachfront experience. This is an open-air restaurant with a fresh menu, raw bar and delicious frozen cocktails. Dine inside or grab a beach chair and order in the sand. This is definitely the place to experience a perfect Nantucket summer day.

Breeze at the Nantucket Hotel is wonderful family restaurant that is open year round and specializes in New England cuisine. The deck is a wonderful place to enjoy live music, light bites and a cocktail in the summer months. Their popular Nantucket Supper Club is a nostalgic dining and dancing experience offered in July and August on Thursday evenings.

Beaches

Children’s Beach or Harbor Beach is a small beach adjacent to The White Elephant Hotel. This is ideal for smaller children as it has a small park, playground and snack bar, The Hungry Minnow. Additionally, in the summer months, the Town of Nantucket hosts free Friday Night Films and Sunday Night Concerts in the park as well as daytime activities.

A short walk or bike ride from town is Jetties Beach. This is a great family beach with changing rooms, restrooms and on-site restaurant, Sandbar. Jetties’ waters are calmer and warmer than others making this the ideal spot for windsurfing, sailing or kayaking and rentals are available on-site. This is also the venue for the annual Boston Pops concert. Be sure to get tickets early!
