The Pearl Nantucket
The Pearl Restaurant is located at 12 Federal Street in beautiful downtown Nantucket. It has been recommended online as a “splashy spot for creative cocktails & inventive Asian-inspired seafood, including their famous wok-fried lobster.” Read on to learn about their special Surf & Turf tasting menu for 2021, indoor and outdoor dining options, and the story behind owners Seth and Angela Raynor.
The Menu at The Pearl
The first thing to know about The Pearl before you go is that their menu is a 4-course prix fixe menu. For those that don’t know, this means that everyone eating at your table will pay a set price for their meal and will then choose an item for each of the 4 courses. The menu is constantly changing, here is a recent menu update from August 24th, 2021.
Moving on, the choices for the second course range from a pair of yellowfin tuna appetizers to a delicious steak and egg meal named after Angela and Seth Raynor’s son Nathaniel. The third course is the main dish, and the options include the famous Wok Fried Lobster and a hefty “Japanese Steak Frites For Two” – the perfect choice if you’re looking to share the main course.
Last but not least, the fourth course is your dessert. Highlighted by the “BoHo Milk & Cookies”, warm dark chocolate chunk cookies served with a mini malt shake, the dessert menu also includes a sorbet and cheese special and a “Cappuccino Panna Cotta”.

Federal Street Hidden Forest
Across the sidewalk in front of The Pearl, a collection of five gorgeous private cabanas create the Federal Street Hidden Forest. A new addition in 2020, this outdoor dining experience was permitted by the Town to allow diners the option to enjoy fine-dining al fresco. With lush greenery abound, this is the perfect spot for a romantic meal and makes for the perfect photo with your loved one. Sit back, and enjoy each and every course as you watch people go by: it’s the perfect blend of having a private meal while still feeling that you’re eating on the streets of the historic district.

Proprietor’s Angela and Seth Raynor
This summer marks the 30th year that Angela and Seth Raynor have owned and operated The Pearl and The Boarding House – The Pearl’s sister restaurant located next door at 12 Federal Street. They met in culinary school and both followed similar paths starting their careers as interns under well-known chefs. Seth worked at The Chanticleer under Jean-Charles Berruet and Angela worked at Le Petit Prince in Cabris, France under Christian Massot. The Pearl menu truly is an “edible love-letter” reflecting the result of two thoughtful chefs, who have mastered their craft, putting their unique and cultured taste into a menu for everyone to enjoy.
Angela and Seth Raynor are avid travelers and enjoy exploring different cuisines throughout the world, which they then incorporate into their award-winning menu. The “Nantucket Salt & Pepper Wok Fried Lobster” won a World’s Best Award from Travel & Leisure magazine. Their wine cellar has also achieved a significant grade of excellence securing Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence. “The unique wine cellar focuses on small, independent winemakers and a unique collection of library selections sourced from around the world”
