While the benefits of living on Nantucket are endless, you can’t avoid the fact that we are still located 30 miles out to sea. There are times when you need something delivered from the mainland, and fast. You could always take the ferry over, but by the time you pick up your items and complete the roundtrip journey, you will have wasted the better part of the day.

With amazing resources like Stop & Shop grocery store, Bartlett’s Farm, Marine Home Center, Napa Auto Parts and other businesses that help keep us afloat, we do have more at our fingertips than some expect us to have as a remote Island.

However, there are certain items that simply can’t be purchased on Nantucket and must be brought over from Cape Cod. In Hyannis, Centerville and surrounding towns, there are big box stores like Target, grocery stores like the affordable Trader Joes and Whole Foods that carry more unique items, and massive home improvement stores like Home Depot and Lowe’s.

Enter Greg Knapp and his reliable, express delivery service “It’s on the Boat”. Greg is able to pick up prepaid and packaged items and deliver them to HyLine Cruises for same-day arrival to Nantucket, saving you the headache of making the trip yourself. Greg says, “Lately a lot of my deliveries have been from Trader Joe items (Two Buck Chuck Wine-lol), Best Buy comes in a second with (very!) wide screen tvs. I haven’t calculated it yet, but retrieving lost luggage at the airport in Hyannis and getting it to Nantucket is also up there.”

Here’s how it works:

Step 1

Order your items from the vendors of your choice on Cape Cod by contacting them. Then you may call, text, or schedule an online same-day pickup by IOTB.

Step 2

Let IOTB know your items are ready for pickup with the pick-up location on Cape Cod and surrounding areas.

Step 3

Once IOTB has collected your item(s) they will then deliver them to Hy-Line for same-day delivery to Nantucket on the assigned boat. You will be charged a delivery fee once the item is placed on the boat. Payment can be made on their payment portal page. They accept all major credit cards and PayPal.

Step 4

Customers can collect their items at Hy-Line’s “Ship to Shore” Office at 42 Straight Wharf. (508) 815-2299

It’s on the Boat is open 7 days a week at 6:00am and close at 4:00pm. Email, text or leave a phone message after hours and they will respond promptly the next day. Call for quick service!
