Fisher is proud to be a supporter and sponsor of Swim Across America Nantucket, a fundraiser that supports cancer treatment and patient care on Nantucket. There are distance options for all ages and skill levels of swimmers, including the Kids’ Splash, 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, and 1 mile distances. Hundreds of swimmers (including Olympians!) participate. The more advanced swimmers, take part in the 4-mile distance on August 18, with the main community event taking place at Jetties Beach on August 25th. Swim Across America began as a relay swim from Nantucket to Hyannis. It has evolved into 18 swims in open water as well as pools around the country.
Proceeds from the swim will support cancer treatment and patient care at Nantucket Cottage Hospital and Palliative and Supportive Care of Nantucket. Through the efforts of these organizations and the support of SAA – Nantucket, residents and visitors alike can receive outstanding cancer treatment and support on the island.
