April sales activity included 21 transactions totaling $43.3 million, a decline of 19 percent and 42 percent respectively from April 2019. Most of these transactions were under contract prior to mid-March. Monthly contract activity was more severely impacted by recent events with six new contracts booked during the 30-day period. This compares to 35 contracts one year ago. The number of new listings that came to market was relatively unchanged. There were 23 new listings in April 2020 as compared to 25 listings one year ago. Nantucket property inventory typically reaches its peak in June & July so we anticipate there may be a divergence from historic trends in the next couple of months.
