As far as bass, there is not a ton to update other than the water temp is rising and fish are still being caught around Madaket harbor. The numbers are not great, as we are a few weeks behind, but there are fish. There were also a few fish caught in Nantucket Harbor this week. At first this was surprising, but than yesterday there was an explosion of mackerel all over the boat basin, jetties and out by the wreck. It was so cool to see all the life and many got in on the action. Sabiki rigs tend to be the goto, but a lot of people use small deadly dicks or small epoxy minnows. Break out your pond rod and a #1 Deadly and you are guaranteed a good time.
The other exciting news is that Buzzards Bay has a lot of fish right now on the surface and pushing into the shallows. These fish will be here soon. While we know many want action now, it will be here very soon! Take this time to get your gear organized and continue wetting lines. The fish will be here soon and the efforts will be worth it.
