There’s no question that our Island is occupied by a multitude of pet-loving Nantucketers. If you are coming to visit Nantucket in the summer months, rest assured there are dozens of businesses and individuals that cater to our pets care. Food and supplies for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and more, can be found at the main outpost of Geronimo’s located on Pleasant Street Mid-island and their sister store, Cold Noses located on Centre Street in Town. The main veterinarian hospital is the Offshore Animal Hospital, which provides full-service, year-round care in the Cliff neighborhood. The Nantucket Island Safe Harbor for Animals (NISHA) is a wonderful non-profit shelter that provides adoption, education and assistance. In 2020, they adopted 235 pets into new homes!
