Ana Ericksen is always illustrating. She started @ackace on Instagram in April of 2021 out of gratitude and appreciation for all Nantucketers did to get through Covid. It was her way of saying “thank you”. Lucky for us, she has continued posting her illustrations quite prolifically, rotating between themes including Nantucket’s wildlife (our favorite are the fish tales!), seasons and special holidays. The vignettes are tied together as stories and you can get lost scrolling in her feed! Some are educational and others are just simply sweet.

Ana says, “I post upbeat, lighthearted comics about coastal life, focused on Nantucket. I graduated from Wellesley in 1981, having studied Political Science and Studio Art. In 1982 I married Michael and we have three children, two son-in-laws, and 5 grandchildren. We’ve visited Nantucket since 1999, and have lived here since 2013.”
