Linda Loring Nature Foundation
The Linda Loring Nature Foundation (LLNF) is a Nantucket land trust and environmental education organization. The foundation promotes environmental literacy through research, education, and stewardship of their 108 acre property empowering our community to develop a sense of place by deepening their connection to the natural world. The Foundation’s property serves as a living laboratory for research and education advancing broad community support and environmental understanding.
The LLNF has weekly bird and nature walks, summer kids programming, and adult education initiatives.
Their popular trail-side Story Walk is open year-round, with the book changing every few months. To find out what the latest book is, check out their website.
In the off-season they offer in-school science-based programming to all of our Nantucket schools. Many classes come to the LLNF property for field trips and hands-on learning. The foundation brings local science to all with their Science Pub program. Science Pub features a different science speaker each month in the winter at a local bar.
Their year-round research program focuses on our changing climate and the potential impacts to Nantucket ecosystems.
For more information about how you can support their research and education initiatives, become a member or just stop by their offices at 110 Eel Point Rd. Their trails are free, open to the public, and open sun up to sundown.
