Nantucket Daffodil Festival

The 2018 Daffodil Festival on Nantucket will begin on Friday, April 27 and ends on Sunday, April 29. The 44th Nantucket Daffodil Festival has dozens of events and activities including an antique car parade, tailgate picnic and flower show at Bartlett’s Farm. Not to mention art shows, Island tours, live music, and themed contests for fun things like best floral hat, window display, picnic set up, dog costume and decorated children’s wagon.

The “main” event is the car parade on Main Street which begins at noon on Saturday. However, 9:30am is when cars start lining up and this is when you want to head to Town. The streets begin filling up with yellow and daffodils can be found on every tie, car and hat. Main Street businesses open their doors and some have fabulous sales before bringing in new inventory for 2018.

Feast your eyes on the car collection – everything from classic to quirky, with themes from vintage ice cream truck to African safari and Star Wars to the Wizard of Oz. We can’t wait to see the themes the entrants come up with this year. This wonderful event is held by the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce. Don’t forget to use the hashtag #ACKDaffy when sharing your photos on Instagram!

The parade does one loop around town and then heads out to ’Sconset, where the cars line up and set up lavish tailgate picnic displays. Don’t forget to take in the thousands of Daffodil blooms lining Milestone Road on your drive out to the other Main Street. Once there, it’s a great opportunity to see your favorite car up close, watch the Pinewoods Morris Dancers and connect with new friends and old in the old village.

We hope you make it out to this incredible festival!
