Nantucket’s Annual Christmas Stroll goes underway on December 3, 2021, with festivities planned through December 5, 2021. Now in its 47th year, Stroll is a community-oriented event sponsored by the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce. With a focus on shopping locally and celebrating the holiday season, there are plenty of events to spread cheer and good tidings throughout the weekend.

Sustainable Nantucket’s Farmers and Artisans Market

Looking for a unique and locally made gift? Stroll the open-air Farmers and Artisans Market on Cambridge Street at this special Friday pop-up. Featuring local makers, artisans, and growers, there are plenty of opportunities to find that perfect present for someone you love (or yourself)! View the vendor map here.

The Farmers and Artisans Market is open to all from 10am until 2pm on Friday, December 3rd. The market is subject to cancellation based on weather, so check Sustainable Nantucket’s website for updates, or follow them on social media @sustainablenantucket.

Nantucket Historical Association’s Festival of Trees

Gather inspiration for your holiday decking of the halls at the Nantucket Historical Association’s annual Festival of Trees. Inspired creations and interpretations of the holiday season’s most iconic symbol line the halls and exhibition spaces of the Whaling Museum. From the creative minds of over 50 local businesses, non-profits, and individuals, each tree is unique and is varied in its style and interpretation of the season. 

This event is a must-see, and will be on display starting Friday, December 3 through December 31, from 10am–4pm daily (excluding Sundays and Christmas.) Admission to the Festival of Trees is free for NHA Members and Island Residents. For visitors, ticket prices vary: $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, $5 for children aged 6 – 17, and free for children under 6.

 

Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce Events

As you ramble around town, be sure to check out the decorated trees and storefronts lining the streets. Each tree or storefront is sponsored and transformed by a local business, non-profit, or group. Find your favorites and place your vote between 10am and 1:30pm on Saturday in the Chamber’s annual “People’s Choice Award” competition. Swing by the information table at the Shop Santa’s Village marketplace for your ballot.

Main Street Fun For Younger Families

Usher Santa up Main St. on Saturday at noon and join his parade as he makes his way through town. After the parade, meet Santa at the top of Main from 1–3pm for socially distanced photos and the opportunity to drop off letters to the North Pole! Wrap-up the afternoon with laughter at the Ugly Sweater Contest, followed by the heartwarming caroling and community sing-along beginning at 4:30pm.

For a comprehensive calendar of events and things to do around town, visit the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce at Zero Main Street. On Stroll Saturday, the Chamber will have a merchandise and information table set up with free copies of the 2021 Official Stroll Program as well as commemorative Stroll souvenirs for sale.
