Festival of Wreaths: A Nantucket Holiday Tradition
The Nantucket Historical Association’s Festival of Wreaths marks the official start of the island’s holiday season—a beloved community tradition that transforms the Whaling Museum into a festive showcase of creativity and cheer.
This year’s festivities begin with a Preview Party on Monday, November 24, 2025, from 5–7 PM, offering guests an early look at the beautifully handcrafted wreaths while enjoying light refreshments and the spirit of the season. The Festival and Auction will run from Monday, November 24 through Saturday, November 29, from 10 AM to 4 PM daily (closed on Thanksgiving Day). Bidding for the Wreath Auction will close at 4 PM on Saturday, November 29.

Each wreath is thoughtfully designed and donated by members of the Nantucket community—including local artists, businesses, non-profits, schools, and organizations. The result is a stunning collection that ranges from classic holiday greenery to imaginative, one-of-a-kind creations.
All proceeds from the auction benefit the Nantucket Historical Association, helping to support its mission to preserve and share the island’s rich history. Those interested in contributing their own creation to this year’s Festival of Wreaths can sign up to donate a wreath and be part of this cherished Nantucket holiday tradition.
