Michael Angelastro
Sales Broker
Michael has been a proud resident of Nantucket since 1972 and has been immersed in the island’s real estate market for over 40 years. Starting his real estate career in 1982, Michael quickly established himself as an expert in the field. His deep knowledge of Nantucket’s real estate market is unparalleled. He played a pivotal role in creating the Nantucket Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) and has a strong understanding of the island’s complex Zoning By-Law. His expertise extends beyond residential properties to include land and commercial sales, making him a well-rounded resource for buyers and sellers alike. Additionally, he has served as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals, reinforcing his dedication to the local community and its real estate landscape.
Before transitioning to real estate, Michael’s career began in education. A high school teacher in Pennsylvania, he later taught business classes at Nantucket High School from 1975 to 1982, where he also led the Cooperative Education and Career Counseling Programs.
Outside of work, Michael is a passionate family man and outdoor enthusiast. For 28 years, he was an avid surf fisherman, counting a 47-½ lb. striped bass among his proudest catches. These days, he has swapped his surf rods for golf clubs, though he jokingly describes it as one of his poorest decisions in history. Michael and his wife Joanne find their greatest joy in spending time with their six children and nine grandchildren.
Michael’s blend of professional expertise, community involvement, and approachable personality makes him a trusted name in Nantucket real estate.
