While you may already have your July 4th “routine”, Fisher Real Estate canvassed all of the island’s events to provide our top 10 picks, on- and off-Main Street, for you and your family. The festivities kick off on Sunday… well, ok, they kick off whenever you get here, let’s be real!

  • Get patriotic and sing the National Anthem at the Unitarian Church1pm
  • Enjoy this spectacular weather and take a Discovery Tour of Great Point & the Coskata-Coatue WildlifeSunday 9am and 1pm
  • Cool off with an ocean breeze by hopping on a Whale Watching trip with Shearwater Excursions8am and 2pm
  • Then, after a little beach time and Cisco Brewery, grab a picnic blanket, your favorite nibbles and your loved ones to find a great spot for the fireworks.  They begin at 9pm and Nantucket’s ACK FM 97.7 will be coordinating music so tune in!

FISHER REAL ESTATE’S TOP 10 ACTIVITIES FOR THE FOURTH of JULY:

  1. Start the morning off with a reminder of what the Fourth is all about and join in on a reading of the Declaration of Independence: 9am Unitarian Church
  2. Main Street festivities (face-painting, dunk tank, pie & watermelon contest) kick off with a sing-a-long of the National Anthem and America the Beautiful: 10am – 11:45am
  3. For the younger kids and the young at heart, grab a seat and watch the Puppet Show at the Methodist Church: 10:30
  4. By now, you might be getting hungry so we suggest walking down by Hyline Cruises to Oath Pizza where your family can enjoy custom made pizzas, ready in under 90 seconds!
  5. Once your tummy is satisfied, get ready to get soaked at Nantucket’s annual Main Street “Water Fight”: 11:45
  6. Since you will already be wet, we suggest heading straight to the beach, any beach for surf lessons, SUP Yoga, or good old chill time!
  7. After a little R&R, continue the festivities and games at the Children’s Beach July 4th Celebration5pm
  8. As the sun starts to go down, we suggest walking the docks to check out the boats and see Brant Point Lighthouse adorned with an AmericanFlag.
  9. Once night falls, consider taking a Ghost Walk through Town.
  10. Prior to bedtime, and since the skies have been so clear, considering “Reach for the Stars”at Loines Observatory9pm
